Iceland!

Well I've been in Iceland for almost a week.  I haven't posted any new pictures on this blog because I have started a travel blog specifically for all the images I am taking on my epic venture.  I will be posting some here, especially if I'm in an area for longer than a week or two.  The other blog is portraitsoftheplanet.blogspot.com.  It is a photo blog/travel journal designed with my new point of view in photography.  This blog is still going to be more on the fine art side, so the two blogs may look and feel different from each other.
Enjoy!

Bannack

Bannack.... Montana's Territorial Capitol from the 1800's.  People lived in Bannack clear up to the 1970's, and several of the houses had wallpaper to prove it.  I found a lot of things to enjoy in this wonderful town.  As I was walking down the street, the Old West town that it was seemed to spring to life.  Walking through the Hotel, I felt that I could live in that building and be content for the rest of my life.  Bannack is a beautifully preserved town, and I'm excited to explore it some more in the future.

Horses!!

A couple of weeks ago, my mom, a family friend, and I all went to "hitch pull" in Deer Lodge, Montana.  None of us knew what to expect.  I couldn't help but think that it sounded incredibly "cowboyish."  What we discovered, instead, was this fabulous event with beautiful animals strutting around and showing off.  From the personal use wagons, to the eight hitch mule team, everyone was having a good time and drivers showed off their skills in incredible ways.  Enjoy!

Many Glacier, Glacier NP
So it's been awhile since I posted.  New website isn't up yet, but it is slloooowwwlly in the works.   Enjoy these new images from Glacier.  It may become an annual tradition to venture north and photograph these amazing places.  Iceberg Lake is in the Many Glacier area of Glacier NP.  It is a ten mile hike round trip.  The hike isn't particularly difficult, but it is long.  Once you round the last bend to get to the lake however, it is all worth it.  Iceberg Lake is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.  I'm excited to do the hike again, hopefully next year, and when I'm in a bit better shape!

New Computer

Ok, so my computer has been acting up lately and finally died.  I am now running on a new machine yay!  Also, I have become a tech manager for a local paranormal group, which includes photographing the "active" areas and seeing if I can capture anything.  So far, I haven't been successful, but if I am, I will be posting the photos here.  As far as the fine art side of things,  I have begun work on a new series of montages using images from my travels from the last year and a half.  I am venturing to Denver this weekend, so the possibility of making new images is great!
