Mordancage
I wanted to share the process of mordancage with everyone. This particular image is one of my favorites. This process involves taking a regular silver gelatin, black and white print (lots of blacks are preferable), dipping it into a bleach bath, then putting it into a redeveloper. This process starts to eat away at the emulsion on the print (all the black parts) and results in what we call veils. The new print then gets washed OR put out in the sun. I put this one out in the sun and it turned redish brown!!

New Photo Book
Howdy again! I'm a posting fiend today, but I just got back from Barnes and Noble and purchased this great little (affordable!!) photo book called Little People in the City: The Street Art of Slinkachu. Slinkachu, the photographer, set up little scenes all over London and photographed them. Then he left his creations behind to see how long it took people to notice them. The link to his website is here

My new part time job
Well, hello everyone out there in cyberspace! I just got a new part time job as Photo Examiner for Billings (even though I live in Bozeman. I think it'll work out!). I'm going to try to write at least five articles a week on photographic related things in the Billings area! Book mark it! It'll be good!
